                                                                                                                               Most Christians caught in this debate will ask the atheist, "How the heck can non-living matter evolve into living matter?" This argument has pretty much been fought out already due to information science.
                                                                                                                               Despite all the harsh wars this theory has been through, and is still participating in, many people still believe it.
                                                                                                                               I believe what kept this alive is the Miller-Urey experiment. This section has some scientific jargon, so if you'd like to skip the chemical reactions and equations, just scroll past them.

                                                                                                                               This experiment was performed by Stanley Miller and Harold Urey, giving it the name "Miller-Urey." This experiment was thought to have produced "life" in the lab under certain conditions, which means life could have spontaneously jump out of soup under certain conditions, right?

                                                                                                                               Well, they didn't make life. But they did produce a small amount of amino acids, which are the 'building blocks' of life.

                                                                                                                               The experiment used water (H2O), methane (CH4), ammonia (NH3), and hydrogen (H2). Notice they did not use pure oxygen, I'll explain later.

                                                                                                                               This is the chemistry of the experiment:
                                                                                                                                CO2->CO + [O] (atomic oxygen)
                                                                                                                                CH4 + 2[O]->CH2O + H2O
                                                                                                                                CO + NH3->HCN + H2O
                                                                                                                                CH4 + NH3-> HCN + 3H2 (BMA process)
                                                                                                                          *The formaldehyde, ammonia, and HCN then react by Strecker synthesis to form amino acids and other biomolecules:
                                                                                                                                CH2O + HCN + NH3->NH2-CH2-CN + H2O
                                                                                                                                NH2-CH2-CN + 2H2O->NH3 + NH2-CH2-COOH
                                                                                                                          *The formaldehyde and water can react with the Butlerov's reaction to make different kinds of sugars and ribose.

                                                                                                                          This shows that "simple" organic compounds of building blocks of proteins (amino acids) or other macromolecules (ions) can be formed from gases by the addition of energy.

                                                                                                                          Picture
                                                                                                                               As complex and amazing as the experiment looks, there are some problems, not with the experiment, but with what YOU have been told by scientists.

                                                                                                                               The Miller-Urey experiment DID NOT create life. It created proteins, and various amino acids. This is horribly mistaken as proof that life could have spontaneously formed from inanimate matter. This is wrong on every degree, except a Supreme Being does it.

                                                                                                                               So what's the problem with the Miller-Urey experiment?

                                                                                                                               The Miller-Urey experiment produced hydrogen cyanide (HCN). Hydrogen cyanide is extremely poisonous to life, it is used to exterminate insects and rodents and has been used on humans. You might know it by its popular name, "Nova 6" a terrible gas used by the Germans during the second world war. If the amino acids did become living cells, the cells would die. No life.
                                                                                                                               The Miller-Urey experiment left out pure oxygen (O2) because all life would have oxidized! That radically changes everything, but the scientists kept it from the rest of the world.

                                                                                                                               If the first cell did come into existence under these circumstances, it would need something to eat. Atheists claim that the first cells ate hydrogen sulfide, a chemical poisonous to life.

                                                                                                                               I find many things wrong with the secular view on the beginning of life, but the Bible's answer is so simple, and has still yet been unproved.

                                                                                                                               I WILL BELIEVE THE BIBLE UNTIL IT IS PROVEN WRONG!
