Contemplative Prayer
This one is a very tricky subject! It sounds so nice, but it's a great big lie. This falls into Yoga and the converging of the religions of the world.
You've probably heard of God being the voice inside of you, and that you should listen to "him."
There's a quick and obvious answer to this, any real Christian can recognize it instantly...
But before that, let's dig just a little bit deeper. In contemplative prayer, you not only talk to God, but "God talks to you." You must sit in a quiet room, breathe deeply, and repeat a certain phrase again and again. For example: "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus..." or "I want you, I want you, I want you..."
But Jesus Himself told us not to make vain repetitions!
Also, just the simple concept of you praying so that God could talk to you is opposite of the Bible!
We talk to God through prayer, not to prepare for His presence, but to request of Him. "Pray" means "to ask." And God answers through the holy words of the Bible. The Bible is the Word of God. God's Word, we listen to God's Words, and His Word is the Bible.
Please don't be deceived.
